On May 23, 2018, a regional workshop was held by the NPSC “Holding Kasipkor” on the base of “Agrarian Technical College” of Ridder town.
The topic of the workshop was – “Professional training for the mining and metallurgy industry as a key to success of regional economic development”.
This regional workshop was conducted to summarize the Kazakhstan’s experience in training professionals in the mining and metallurgical industry and implementation of innovative educational technologies for VET education.
The workshop was attended by the representatives of education departments, of employers, of departments and centers of VET education, the heads and teachers of VET organizations of East Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Karaganda and Kostanay regions and representatives of the regional branch of the NCE “Atameken” and the Independent Accreditation and Rating Agency.
The program of this event demonstrated a synthesis of advanced Kazakhstan’s experience in the implementation of innovative educational technologies in the educational process of VET organizations, such as the introduction of the module-competence approach to the training process in mining and metallurgy, transition to the teaching of special disciplines in English and the system of credits for professional education of the ECVET, discussion of the problematic issues of social partnership.
The plenary session of the workshop was considered the positive experience of social partnership of enterprises and “Agrarian Technical College” in the training of specialists of working qualifications for the mining and metallurgical industry of Kazakhstan.
The second part of the workshop included practical work in the thematic sections. The participants were having the opportunity to review the best pedagogical experience of their colleagues and discuss issues of the VET system.
