According to the results of the World Championship WorldSkills Competition, which took place on October 14-19, 2017 in Abu Dhabi (UAE), Kazakhstan took 24th place in the team standings report. On the margins of the 44th world championship, leaders were identified for individual competencies of working specialties among the best representatives of 77 countries. Kazakhstan became the only representative of Central Asia.
In his message to the people “Third modernization of Kazakhstan: global competitiveness”, the Head of State N.Nazarbayev outlined further measures to form a society of universal labor and increase the status of workers, develop vocational education and as a result of training competitive personnel for the domestic economy. Actively participating in various educational and innovative championships of the world, Kazakhstani youth also contributes to the development of the system of training highly qualified technical personnel.
One of such innovative platforms of the world level is the WorldSkills movement, of which Kazakhstan became a member in 2014. The aim of the WorldSkills project is to increase the prestige of the working professions and develop vocational education by harmonizing the best practices and professional standards worldwide through the organization and holding of professional skills competitions, both in each individual country and throughout the world as a whole. The project makes a significant contribution to the solution of urgent problems in the preparation of highly skilled workers, who are in high demand for innovative and high-tech areas of domestic industry.
The WorldSkills Abu Dhabi World Championship was held on 51 competencies covering a wide range of working specialties, including construction, manufacturing and engineering, transport and logistics, and robotic equipment. The national team of Kazakhstan was represented in 23 competencies. Such as: visual merchandising, graphic design, clothing design, engineering graphics, masonry, painting and decorative works, mechatronics, truck maintenance, car repair and maintenance, car repair and maintenance, refrigeration and ventilation equipment maintenance, hairdressing, bakery, restaurant service, plumbing and heating, welding technology, network and system administration, dry construction and plastering, concrete technology works, electronics, web design, floristics, electrical work, plumbing.
More than 1300 young specialists took part in the event and visited more than 100 thousand spectators. In the world championship, each participant had a unique opportunity to demonstrate his skills, the professional level of a large audience, and to receive valuable consultations from experts in matters of improving skills, knowledge and further professional growth.
