Meeting on topical issues of introduction of applied bachelor’s degree in colleges of Kazakhstan

On August 23, 2017, the Department of Development and Content of the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) held a joint meeting with the methodologists of the higher medical colleges of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the basis of the NCJSC “Holding “Kasipkor”. Also, Finnish colleagues from the University of Applied Sciences – Doctor of Philosophical Sciences Mrs. Johann Heikkil and Heikki Pusa participated in the meeting.

During the meeting, topical issues were raised regarding the introduction of an applied bachelor’s degree in colleges of Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Management Board of the Medical Colleges Union of Kazakhstan, Shalkharova Zh.S., reported on the experiment “Introduction of applied bachelor’s degree in the specialty of “Nursing” in higher medical colleges in Kazakhstan”. The purpose of this experiment is to develop practice-oriented nursing specialists of a new breed.

Mrs. Johann Heikkil shared with information how program of applied bachelors’s degree with module-credit technology application was introduced in Finland.

Head of the Department of Development and Content of the TVET, Dalabaev Zh.K. briefed on the regulatory framework for the introduction of applied bachelor’s degree in higher colleges in Kazakhstan and on the project of Methodology of development and format of an educational program of applied bachelor’s degree.

During the meeting practical recommendations were developed.

Finally, it is foreseen to conclude a Memorandum between NCJSC “Holding “Kasipkor” and “Union of Medical Colleges of Kazakhstan” for further effective cooperation on the introduction and maintenance of applied bachelor’s degree in colleges of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
